The Gift Theatre announced its 2016 season this week, which includes productions of Shakespeare's Richard III, as well as
The Grapes of Wrath and A Life
Ordinary.
Richard III was originally announced to go up at Next Theatre in Evanston. Those plans were tossed when Next shuttered its doors last year. The production, directed by Jessica Thebus, will now be a part of Steppenwolf's Garage Rep and will star Michael Patrick Thornton in the leading role. The production is slated to begin in March. Gift Theatre's home is at 4802 N. Milwaukee Avenue in the Chicago neighborhood of Jefferson Park.
